Life can be challenging for us all at times. It often throws an unexpected curve – or two – particularly when we are least expecting it…
In an ideal world we are aware of our emotions and thought processes, equipped to respond rather than react and take these situations in our stride.
Being human that’s not always possible. Emotion kicks in along with fear and goodness knows what else that can make it all that much tougher. Sometimes as friends, relatives or colleagues looking in from the outside we would like to offer our support to ease someone’s pain or burden or just help in some way.
Most of us are not good at asking for help let alone receiving it. So what can you do if you would like to help – but don’t know how or maybe don’t even know how to ask…
How about saying a prayer? For some people, knowing that someone is thinking of them through this tough time gives them the extra strength and courage to keep going. To know that everything will eventually work out, even if they don’t know how, right now.
When we pray we are merely asking for help from a source outside of ourselves. It doesn’t matter what you call it – be it Source, the Universe, God, it doesn’t matter. What you are doing in effect is focusing your energy on a positive outcome for someone else – how lovely is that. The more thoughtful, kind and considerate we all are towards ourselves and others the more positive, peaceful and filled with love the world will be.
So join me and ask for help for yourself, for others and for the world – to whomever or whatever you believe in. And know that you are contributing to the greater good of all.
